The Bar Association of Sri Lanka is to decide on whether to take action against the BOC Chairman and senior lawyer Razik Zarook, who delivered the address on behalf of the unofficial Bar at the Ceremonial Sitting for Chief Justice Mohan Peiris yesterday without the consent of the BASL.
The Bar Association will decide on whether to pursue action against President’s Counsel Zarook when the Association’s Executive Committee next meets, BASL Secretary Sanjeewa Gamage told the Daily FT.
“There was a resolution by the Bar Association that its members would not attend the ceremonial sitting. He did not obtain the consent of the Bar before delivering this address,” Gamage said.
Zarook, PC, who also delivered an unofficial welcome to the new Chief Justice at the Superior Court Complex, was appointed BOC Chairman by the Government last week.
