CIC’s ‘Biththara Wee’ advert won the TV commercial of the year accolade at the SLIM Nielson People’s Awards held last night – a commercial which was the brain child of ad agency Triad Ltd.
This is the third year that Sri Lanka’s top creative agency and 3 consecutive times Chillies winner bagged this award — the first two years being for its iconic ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ national campaign.
The SLIM Nielsen People’s Awards is organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing in association with The Nielsen Company, and is a local symbol of achievement that accolades creations which are nominated by the nation’s people themselves and are therefore a true reflection of the pulse of the people.
“There are two ways of judging effective communications,” avers the Executive Director and Brand Strategist of Triad, Michael Holsinger. “One is through the creativity of the campaign, and the second is through how effectively it managed to engage the consumer in its message. Therefore for us as an agency, winning a People’s Award only emphasises the latter – as it clearly reflects the impact the advertisement had on its audience.
