Parliament was called off yesterday due to lack of a quorum to carry on the session.

The Parliament was postponed until 2.40 p.m. on 19 October when the government parliamentarian Chandima Weerakkodi raised the issue of lack of a quorum.

Only 18 lawmakers were present in the House.

At the time a private MP proposal submitted by the opposition United National Party (UNP) MP Ravi Karunanayaka was on debate.
