Standard Chartered’s Group Executive Director and a member of the Board of Standard Chartered PLC, Jaspal Singh Bindra, will visit the Colombo branch tomorrow to share strategies on the way forward for Sri Lanka with the Leadership team. Bindra will also be meeting with key customers of Standard Chartered during his visit.
The Group Executive Director is yet another key member of the Bank’s senior leadership to visit the country within the last month. Last week 30 members of the South Asia Regional Executive Committee were in Colombo for their strategy meeting.
In the coming weeks, Consumer Banking and Finance will also host members of their functions’ leaders at conferences and workshops, in the city.
Bindra, who is based in Hong Kong as Chief Executive Officer, Asia, was appointed to the Board of Standard Chartered PLC on 1 January 2010. He joined Standard Chartered in 1998 and has held senior positions in the Group such as Global Head of Client Relationship for Wholesale Bank and Chief Executive Officer for India. He is a Board member of Vital Voices Global Partnership in the USA, a member of the Employers’ Forum on Disability in the UK, and also sits on the Board of Governors of XLRI School of Business and Human Resources, India.
