As social media goes mainstream globally, SriLankan Airlines officially launched its dedicated accounts on the world’s most sought after sites – Facebook and Twitter – adopting new strategies to change, evolve, modernise and open up according to trends in communication.
The airline’s face in the popular sites will enable its current customers and potential customers, not only to obtain product and service information of the airline, but also to get credible and authentic impressions and perceptions from current users.
By visiting these pages, passengers can get information on special offers, participate in exclusive contests, find quick answers to complex travel questions and interact with the airline directly without the constraints experienced by customers before the use of social media.
SriLankan also plans to launch its YouTube and Flickr channels through which customers and media institutions will have instant access to latest airline information and images.
SriLankan Airlines could be found on Facebook as ‘SriLankan Online,’ and on Twitter as ‘@flySriLankan’. Also available on the Facebook Page is a booking option.
SriLankan Airlines now flies to 52 destinations in 33 countries and will be re-launching a thrice-weekly service to Zurich, Switzerland in December.
