SML Frontier Automotive Ltd., is considering a project to assemble Land Rover Defenders in Sri Lanka but said conducive Government policy will be critical for the move.
“We are hopeful of commencing the assembling of the Land Rover Defender in Sri Lanka. We are awaiting a clear policy from the Government to decide on the future of this project,” SML Frontier Automotive Managing Director Sheran Fernando told the Daily FT.
Commenting on the challenges in the industry at present he pointed that a stable policy framework will greatly enhance the development of the industry.
