The 13th Conference on International Network of Affiliated Ports (INAP) will be held in Sri Lanka on 24 and 25 August.
The inauguration ceremony will be held on 24 August 2011 at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel in Colombo on the theme ‘Bridging Global Regions through Affiliated Ports for Mutual Cooperation’.
This year’s function hosted by Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) will be attended by six countries.
They are Sri Lanka representing the Port of Colombo and Japan representing the Port of Kochi, Philippines representing the Port of Subic Bay and the Port of Cebu, Indonesia representing the Port of Tanjung Perak and South Korea representing the Port of Mokpo. The People’s Republic of China is also a member of the International Network of Affiliated Ports.
The first International Symposium of the INAP was held at the BMICH, in Colombo, in November 1998 on an idea initiated by M.H.M. Ashraff, the then Minister of Ports Development, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, at the opening ceremony of Port of Kochi in Japan.
SLPA Chairman Dr. Priayth B. Wickrama will Chair the 13th INAP Conference.
