SLIC buys 16.29% of Tess Agro Plc

Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation has bought 16.3% stake in Tess Agro Plc, the former’s broker NDB Stockbrokers said.

However the broker didn’t disclose at what price the shares were bought or when.

Tess saw 65.3 million of its shares or 36% stake traded on Monday for Rs. 312 million and emerging second biggest percentagewise gainer up 30% to Rs. 5.20.

Yesterday retailers were active on Tess Agro leading it to record a 52-week high of Rs. 5.80 up 9.4% in the top gainers’ list. Quantity traded was 15.4 million shares for Rs. 90 million.
