The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) yesterday urged Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy to take relevant action to temporarily suspend Perpetual Treasuries’ primary dealer license.
SLFP spokesman Dilan Perera said that to date the Central Bank had been unable to take action against Perpetual Treasuries even though the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) Report has stated that the former Governor should be held accountable.
Perera said that Coomaraswamy should direct relevant authorities to take steps to suspend the license of the company until investigations and the parliamentary debate concluded.
