Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Chairman U.K. Sinha will keynote the two-day stakeholder workshop organised by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over the weekend.
On an invitation of SEC Chairperson Indrani Sugathadasa, Sinha is scheduled to arrive on Friday and will deliver the keynote speech at the inauguration of the two-day Capital Markets Development Workshop 2011 at Jetwing Blue Negombo.
Sinha is also the Asia Pacific Chairman of the IOSCO, the global body of capital markets regulators, and will share current best global practices in capital markets as well as key learnings from the global financial crisis. He is also likely to highlight some success stories with regard to mutual funds as he was formerly the Managing Director of Unit Trust of India (UTI). India is now considered the world’s third largest capital market.
