P.R. Saldin has been promoted as the new Chief Executive Officer cum Executive Director of Browns Investments Plc succeeding Murali Prakash, who will continue to be on the Board in addition to being Group CEO of Brown and Company Plc.
Previously Saldin was the Chief Operating Officer cum Executive Director at Browns Investment Plc, whilst Prakash also held the post of Managing Director Browns Investments Plc.
The company also announced the resignation of Ajit Devasurendra from the Board, a move to comply with regulatory limits on the number of board positions enjoyed.
Saldin, who is also the Group COO of Browns, counts for over 15 years experience at top management level. Previously he was the Finance Director of Shell Gas Lanka and Group Finance Director and Commercial Director of CIC.
Browns Investment describes itself as a growth-oriented company operating in sunshine industries. It is controlled by Taprobane Fund Management (27.69%) and Browns and Company (26.5%) whilst LOLC Investments holds 13%.
Following the changes, the Board of Directors of Browns Investments Plc comprises Rohini Nanayakkara (Non Executive Chairperson), P.R. Saldin (Executive Director/CEO), Murali Prakash (Executive Director), Ishara Nanayakkara (Executive Director), D.S.K. Amarasekera (Non Executive Director), R.P. Sugathadasa (Non Executive Director), S. Furkhan (Non Executive Director), N. Fernando (Independent Non Executive Director) and A.G. Weerasinghe (Independent Non Executive Director).
