The Central Bank has made a record Rs. 34 billion profit transfer to the Government last year, Governor Nivard Cabraal disclosed on Tuesday.
He said during the past seven years, the Central Bank has been able to appropriate Rs. 113 billion to the Government from the surpluses the Bank generated, mainly from international operations.
This figure he also compared with Rs. 60 billion cumulative appropriation for 30 years between 1976 and 2005 and Rs. 30 billion between 1950 and 1975.
