Ravi’s no confidence motion handed over

The Joint opposition handed a no-confidence motion against Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake with 37 signatures to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya yesterday at Parliament. The Speaker will consider tabling the motion at the next session in April. Declining foreign reserves, volatile exchange rates, high borrowings, and the inability to follow the Budget 2016 framework are the key areas entered into the motion against Minister Karunanayake.
