Ravi Dias new Chairman at Senkadagala Finance

Senior banker Ravi Dias has been appointed as the new Chairman of Senkadagala Finance Plc. Last week he was appointed to the Board. Dias will replace Dr. P. Ramanujam who functioned as Interim Chairman. Following the new appointment, Dr. Ramanujum will continue as Deputy Chairman of Senkadagala Finance Plc.

Ravi served Commercial Bank for four decades and retired recently. He was recently appointed to the Board of Carson Cumberbatch Plc., as well. Following the latest appointment the Board of Directors of Senkadagala Finance Plc comprises Ravi Dias (Chairman), P. Ramanujam (Deputy Chairman), L. Balasuriya (Managing Director/CEO), A. Balasuriya, L. Fernando, W.A.T. Fernando, S.S. Kulatunga, S.D. Bandaranayake, and D.T.P. Collure. Ravi holds a Degree in Law and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK). He is also a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow. He is an Alumnus of INSEAD Business School – France, having attended the Advanced Management Program in Fontainebleau. He is also a Committee member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and chairs the Banking, Finance and Capital Markets Steering Committee, a sub-committee of the Chamber. He also served on the Board of Directors of Commercial Development Company Plc, Lanka Clear Ltd. and Lanka Financial Services Bureau Ltd. and was a Council Member of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon.
