Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris yesterday terminated the proceedings of the Avant Garde case on a request from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the police.

The CID has informed the court that it does not wish to proceed further with the case.

The court has also lifted the order preventing the Chairman of Avant Garde Maritime Services Ltd., Major Nissanka Senadhipathi, from travelling overseas.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate issued the travel restriction order in January due to the ongoing investigations by the CID on Avant Garde’s floating armoury maintained at the Galle Harbour.
