President, PM wish SL Cricket Team via Skype

Ahead of Wednesday’s crucial quarter final match in the 2015 ICC World Cup, President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe extended wishes to the Sri Lankan Cricket Team via Skype. Sri Lanka meets South Africa on Wednesday and a victory will qualify for semi-final. President Sirisena congratulated the team for their performance so far and asked the team to win the remaining matches with greater team spirit. He also congratulated Kumar Sangakkara for his record-breaking feat of scoring four successive centuries in a World Cup. “You have become the pride of our nation. Do your best which will ensure Sri Lanka gets the best result,” Premier Wickremesinghe said, adding, “Have an eye on De Villiers (South African Captain).” The new Government has promised a cash prize of $ 1 million if Sri Lanka wins the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
