Former Secretary to the Finance Ministry and Treasury, Dr. P.B. Jayasundera, was summoned to the police’s Special Investigations Unit yesterday to provide a statement on the alleged financial fraud that is said to have taken place at the Reconstruction and Development Agency during the construction of houses for Tsunami victims.
RADA has collected funds to build houses for people in the North and East who lost their homes due to the devastating Boxing Day tsunami in 2004.
In March this year Jayasundera was questioned by the police’s Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) over the controversial oil hedging deal which occurred during the previous administration in which the Government lost $ 200 million.
