Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has decided to allocate time for Opposition MPs to raise questions directly to him in Parliament.
This opportunity will be provided for a half hour per week and is tentatively scheduled for every Thursday at the beginning of Parliamentary proceedings.
Wickremesinghe has already handed over a letter to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya informing the Speaker of his decision and requested allocation of time for this purpose.
MPs who wish to voice their questions should submit them to the Prime Minister’s Office before the commencement of proceedings.
