Otara among finalists for US Stevie Award for Women in Business

Sri Lanka’s iconic lifestyle store Odel founded by Otara Gunewardene is among short listed nominees for the world famous Stevie Awards for Women in Business of US.



The seventh in the series, the Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, the international competition recognising the accomplishments of outstanding women executives, business owners, and the organisations they run.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards. The Stevies are widely considered to be the world’s premier business awards.

The final results of the seventh annual competition will be announced at an awards dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City on Friday, 12 November.

More than 1,200 nominations were submitted this year, a record total for the competition, for consideration in 54 categories by organisations in Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the USA.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are governed by a board of distinguished judges and advisors that features many leading women entrepreneurs and luminaries in business. They and their staffs will perform the final judging to determine the Stevie Award winners from among the finalists.
