Former Central Bank Governor Nivard Cabraal has said he is willing to come before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on the Treasury bond scam.
In a statement, regarding suggestion to be summoned to give evidence at the Bond Commission, Cabraal said: “I observed that certain Members of Parliament had suggested that I be summoned before the Bond Commission. In that regard, I wish to state that I would be very happy to give evidence before the Bond Commission and respond to any questions the Commission may wish to clarify. “At the same time, I would welcome the opportunity to provide the Commission: (a) a professional assessment on the total loss that has been suffered by the Government and the country as a result of the bond scam, and (b) a scientific and studied insight into the actions and circumstances that enabled the scam to be carried out.”
