More BOI companies to pay taxes

At present, there are 1,723 projects in commercial operation under the BOI. According to a survey carried out by the BOI 1,056 projects have expired tax holiday periods in 2013 and have started paying corporate tax. A report released by the BOI noted that another 95, 101, and 71 projects will be added to the above 1,056 by 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively and thereafter further 400 projects will be included to the tax net (the new projects that will commence commercial operation during 2014-2016 have not been included for this calculation). This has increased the contribution of BOI projects in the Government tax revenue generation, the report assured.
