Mamaduwa appointed GM/CEO of HDFC Bank

Senior professional banker Nimal J.B. Mamaduwa has been appointed as the General Manager/CEO of HDFC Bank Plc.

The appointment has been approved by the Ministry of Finance and subject to regulatory approval from the Central Bank.



The CEO/GM post at HDFC had remained vacant for sometime after Suresh Ameresekera left in August 2011, a position he held since October 2008.

Mamaduwa most recently served as the General Manager/CEO of Sanasa Development Bank between 2006 and October 2012 after having joined the entity in 2003.

He counts for 38 years of experience in commercial and development banking including 29 years at HNB. He is a Fellow of Chartered Management Institute UK and has a Diploma in Credit Management (ACIM) and a Diploma in Bank Management from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. Presently he is reading for a MBA from the University of Wales (UK).
