Like father, like son!

The illustrious father once headed the regulatory body of capital markets – the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – and the son today is leading the engine – the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).

The appointment of Krishan Balendra as CSE Chief on Monday should add a fresh feather to the cap of Balendra family. The father, the iconic business leader of John Keells Holdings-fame, Ken served as Chairman of the SEC from August 2000 to January 2002. Krishan incidentally also becomes the third from JKH to occupy the seat of CSE Chairman with the previous two being former Deputy Chairman V. Kailasapillai and the current Deputy Chairman Ajit Gunewardene.
