JWT Board Members and Asia Pacific and Middle East North Africa Region President Michael Maedel will be in town today on a two day maiden visit to Sri Lanka. He is joined by JWT India CEO Colvyn Harris.
The two are scheduled to review the local business and explore new opportunities in post war Sri Lanka. They will also meet staff and clients during their short stay in the country.
Maedel joined JWT in 1990 as Chairman and CEO of JWT Germany, based in Frankfurt. In 1993 he took-up the role of Area Director Central and Eastern Europe. He moved to London in 1997 when he was named the President of Europe, Middle East and Africa in 1997. Michael started his career at Young & Rubicam, where he worked for some 13 years.
Harris was also the onetime CEO of the Sri Lanka office between 1997-1999. He was responsible in playing a significant role in turning the business around during his tenure with JWT Colombo.
