The ceremonial induction of Sujeewa Rajapakse as the 21st President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will be held today at 6 p.m. at the Oak Room of the Cinnamon Grand.
Rajapakse will take over the mantle of CA Sri Lanka from Sujeewa Mudalige at the ceremony at which Central Bank Governor Nivard Cabraal will be the Chief Guest. Prior to elevation as the President, Rajapakse was the Vice President.
He is the Managing Partner of BDO Partners, a firm of Chartered Accountants, and counts over 27 years of experience with the firm. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
He is also a Board member of the South Asian Federation of Accountants as well as Director of the NDB Bank Board.
Rajapakse has also held numerous honorary positions over the years and has functioned as a Board Member of First Capital Group and the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board as well as Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee and the Cricket World Cup 2011.
