GRI (Global Rubber Industries) has acquired Leffler Industrial Tire & Rubber Track and Kentucky Industrial Tire, two privately held companies that retail and service industrial tires in the United States.
Leffler Industrial Tire is an Indianapolis based company that specialises in industrial forklift tires for the material handling industry. It currently offers product and services in Illinois and Indiana. Kentucky Industrial Tire based in Louisville and Lexington offers the same products and services in Kentucky.
Mike and Sherri Leffler founded Leffler Industrial Tire in March 2009 in Indiana and recently expanded operations in January 2016 to establish Kentucky Industrial Tire.
The Lefflers have grown their businesses and revenues year-on-year at a noteworthy pace and to a level that attracted GRI.
Their companies offer a wide portfolio of tires for the material handling and construction industry. The core products are solid, resilient and press-on band tires for forklifts, polyurethane tires, construction tires, skid steer tires, OTR tires and rubber tracks. Services offered include mobile onsite installation and poly fill solutions.
“GRI has been a trusted and reliable supplier for many years with a strong commitment to high quality industrial tires. It is a privilege to now be a part of this multinational company. This union allows us to continue providing premium tires with outstanding service to our customers while expanding our footprint.” states Mike Leffler, President of Leffler Industrial Tire and Kentucky Industrial Tire.
“I am proud to announce the acquisition of the companies, which will strengthen the business and reach of GRI in the United States. Along with our long established office in Georgia, GRI will now be able to provide our customers in the US products and services at a level beyond their expectations,” says GRI Managing Director Prabhash Subasinghe.
GRI will broaden its geographical reach, enhance its distribution channels and accelerate its route to market in other regions within the United States with its acquisition of Leffler and Kentucky Industrial Tires. The synergies of both companies will enable GRI to reinforce its position as a prominent supplier of specialty tires in the United States.
