The Police Media Unit said that United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Sajin de Vass Gunawardena was questioned yesterday by the Financial Fraud Investigation Division (FFID).

Police sources told the media that Gunawardena was being questioned over allegations of non-payment of leasing installments pertaining to 33 vehicles he had purchased.
On 11 March the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) also recorded a statement from Gunawardena in connection with a complaint received under the Money Laundering Act.
