False fire alarm brings Mihin flight back

Mihin Lanka said yesterday that its Flight MJ603 bound for Jakarta returned to Katunayake, as a precautionary measure, following a smoke alert in the cockpit.

“Preliminary investigations reveal no indication of smoke in the cargo area, and that it was a false alarm,” the budget carrier said.

All passengers disembarked safely at BIA,” it said.

“The Aircraft is now being prepared to operate the rest of the scheduled services on time,” it added.
