WSO2’s Deep Huge Project and its prediction of a presidential win for Donald Trump with 99.4% confidence if ‘The Terminator’ joins him published yesterday in Daily FT was an April Fool’s joke though several Sri Lankans closely observing the run up were furious but fans of Trump were elated.
The story, however, was inspired by an actual tool that’s built with WSO2’s analytics capabilities, WSO2 Election Monitor, bringing together big data and politics to draw trends using data on the internet.
At the heart of WSO2 Election Monitor is WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB), which scans Twitter and pulls conversations about the US election every second.
Streaming analytics via WSO2 Complex Event Processor (WSO2 CEP) along other batch and predictive analytics via WSO2 Data Analytics Server (WSO2 DAS) are then applied to the Twitter data to identify key trends.
