Public Enterprise Development Deputy Minister Eran Wickramaratne yesterday was emphatic that the culture of people being silenced in Sri Lanka ended on 8 January 2015. He made this statement in response to a question posed to him during the AMCHAM luncheon meeting with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Q: Deputy Minister Erin Wickramaratne where have you been? The last one and a half years, no meetings, no press briefings. I am telling you they are trying to silence you. You think so?
EW: “I can’t be silenced. That era of people being silenced long passed on the 8 January 2015.”
