EPF picks up more of COMBank shares

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) continued to pick up shares of Commercial Bank after buying 1% stake on Wednesday.

Brokers said 2.3 million shares of COMBank traded yesterday generating a turnover of Rs. 644 million. Of the quantity traded a crossing of 1 million shares was done at Rs. 278.50 while the share price increased by Rs. 0.90 (0.32%) and closed at Rs. 278.50.

Among sellers were foreigners. Analysts said that there had been a few other buyers of COMBank shares yesterday as well.

Not NSB but SLIC

The purchaser of 0.7 million shares of Royal Ceramics at Rs. 161 each on Wednesday was not NSB but Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC).

SLIC General Fund has been picking up available quantities of Royal Ceramics whilst among sellers were state funds and individual investors.
