Business leader and JKH Deputy Chairman Ajit Gunewardene is the latest appointment to the Board of the country’s flagship investment promotion agency whilst Dumindra Ratnayaka has been appointed its Chairman.
Gunewardene’s name was announced by the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade following the appointment by President Maithripala Sirisena.
Confirming the Daily FT story of Monday, the ministry also announced the appointment of Mangala Yapa to the BOI Board.
Ratnayake, whose reappointment was also reported by the Daily FT, is the former CEO of Etisalat.
He replaces Upul Jayasuriya PC, who served as BOI Chairman from February 2015 to July 2017.
Yapa is the former Secretary General and CEO of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Managing Director and CEO of Colombo Dockyard Plc.
