Dinal Wijemanne has increased his stake in small-cap Sinhaputhra Finance Plc to 15% last week.
This was following Wijemanne buying a 6% stake amounting to 387,157 shares for Rs. 31 million. Previously, he held a 9% stake. He also becomes the second largest shareholder of the company.
Sinhaputhra closed on Friday up Rs. 9.70 or 14% to Rs. 80 with 936,150 shares traded for Rs. 75 million.
Siunhaputhra’s controlling interest is held by K.R.B. Wijeyeratne (50.6% stake) who is also the Managing Director.
