The unique pre-Budget brainstorm between the private sector and Ministry of Finance, championed by the Daily FT in partnership with the University of Colombo MBA Alumni Association, will be held for the fifth consecutive year on Thursday in Colombo.
Over 20 leading trade, industry and professional associations will attend the brainstorm over breakfast with Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake attending as Chief Guest. Senior officials from the Finance Ministry will be present as well.
Given the relevance of the pioneering initiative, Standard Chartered Bank, with its unique brand promise ‘Here for Good’, has come forward to be the Strategic Partner for the fifth consecutive year.
The private sector leaders will list three of the most critical recommendations for consideration by the Finance Ministry when formulating the 2016 Budget.
The Daily FT-Colombo Uni. MBAA Forum is the only event of its kind which enables a private sector brainstorm with the Finance Ministry prior to presentation of the National Budget.
The 2016 Budget, which will be presented on 20 November, is much anticipated as it will be the first of the new Unity Government of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
