The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) will to meet new Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy and former Governor Arjuna Mahendran today to open a new chapter in the investigation over the alleged Treasury Bonds issue.
The COPE investigations will be based on the 1251-page report of the Auditor General on Treasury Bonds transactions between February 2015 to May 2016, officials have said.
Mahendran is reported to have left for Singapore soon after Dr. Coomaraswamy was appointed as the new Governor.
COPE has also summoned other officials of the Finance Ministry and the Monetary Board to be present before COPE today.
