The Government has decided to appoint a Committee of Secretaries to consider permitting the continuation of the Colombo Port City Development project after correcting the lapses and procedures.
Addressing the weekly Cabinet briefing, Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said a proposal made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to appoint a committee of high-ranking officials chaired by the Secretary to the Prime Minister was approved.
Work on the Port City remains suspended following a recommendation by a previous committee. (CD)
