Chairman Ranjith Fernando and two other old Directors have opted not to seek reappointment to the Board of United Motors Lanka Plc (UML).
The other two are Non-Executive Independent Directors T.M.R.B. Tennekoon (who turned 81 on 25 March 2013) and S. Nagendra (who turned 73 on 26 June 2012). They were up for re-election last year as well.
UML’s Annual General Meeting has been fixed for 5 July 2013.
The company said yesterday Fernando has resigned from office of Chairman and Non Executive Independent Director with effect from 10 June.
In April Fernando also resigned from the Board of Kelani Tyres Plc as an Independent Non Executive Director.
