The Central Bank of Sri Lanka will hold its annual Bank Directors’ Symposium today.
The symposium will be attended by over 200 Directors and Chief Executive Officers of 24 licensed commercial banks and nine licensed specialised banks.
This is the fifth consecutive symposium to be held with a view of updating and sharing the new developments in the economy including the regulatory environment in order to strengthen banks’ resilience to meet upcoming challenges and in exploring new opportunities.
This year’s Directors’ Symposium will focus on positioning the banking sector for the post $4K per capita era.
Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal will deliver the keynote address.
During deliberations, the global market developments, responsibilities of the Board of Directors on liquidity risk management, phasing out operational risks and strengthening resilience to meet risks and challenges will be discussed. The event would provide further opportunities to share the views and experiences among the participants.
