CB 2014 Road Map under scrutiny today at Ceylon Chamber-Daily FT Forum

Under a joint initiative by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Daily FT, a top level discussion involving several experts will take place today on the 2014 Road Map unveiled by the Central Bank last week. The panel discussion will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel, Colombo 3, with Central Bank Governor Nivard Cabraal as the Chief Guest. Aitken Spence Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Rajan Brito, NDB Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Theagarajah, former Central Bank Assistant Governor Dr. Anila Dias Bandaranaike and Insurance Association of Sri Lanka President Prakash Schaffter will join Central Bank Governor Cabraal in the panel.

Though the 2014 Road Map was the eighth annual policy statement, this is the first time the important document comes under a public discussion. The discussion will be moderated by the Daily FT Editor Nisthar Cassim. Via the Road Map, the Central Bank last week announced monetary and financial sector polices for 2014 and beyond. It also reviews salient achievements in the previous year and explained the Central Bank’s policy direction and work plan for the New Year.
