Business delegation from Colombo to attend Jaffna Investor Forum

FCCISL will facilitate a visit by a high-profile 19-member business delegation from Colombo to the Investor Forum to be held in conjunction with the Jaffna International Trade Fair.

The fair, which will be staged from 21-23 January 2011 at the grounds adjoining the Durayappah Stadium, is being organised by the FCCISL, Lanka Exhibition and Convention in association with Yarlpanam Chamber.

The forum is being organised with the focus on SME development and its attention will be directed towards investment opportunities in Sri Lanka following the end of the north and east conflict.

This will create a platform for importers, exporters, service providers, buyers, sellers, those looking for investment opportunities, investment promotion agencies, exporters who wish to find products for export, local suppliers of finished products and raw materials and logistics providers to meet at one venue.

Members of the delegation will attend the Forum on 21 January followed by one-to-one business meetings with leading business personalities in Jaffna and India. Relevant presentations and important business topics would be taken up for discussion at the forum in order to enhance and further develop the business capacity.

In addition, on 22 January, they will participate in a special Institutional Forum, where the Government Agent and Land Commissioner will be in attendance.
