The United National Party yesterday urged UPFA MP Arundika Fernando not to hide behind Parliamentary privilege and tell the country where and when he last saw Prageeth Ekneligoda.
“This is a challenge to MP Arundika Fernando. Either tell the country where Prageeth was last seen or be relegated to being just another lying Government Parliamentarian,” UNP MP Ajith Perera said.

Perera said that Fernando’s statement in Parliament was a grave matter because Prageeth Ekneligoda had become a symbol of media suppression in Sri Lanka.
“If this MP met Ekneligoda in France, it was his duty to immediately inform the Government that the missing journalist has been found,” he said.
