Reuters: Shares logged record closing levels for the third straight session on Friday, propelled by strong gains in financial stocks.
The CSE All-Share index, which ended 2.11% higher at 10,632.21 points, was up 4.62% for the week, clocking its best week in five.
The index had hit a record high of 10,674.87 points earlier in the session.
Finance heavyweights, Commercial Leasing and Finance Plc and LOLC Finance Plc were the top boosts to the index, soaring nearly 20% and 15%, respectively.
The equity market’s turnover was Rs. 5.60 billion, according to stock exchange data.
Trading volume on the exchange rose to 212 million shares, from 188.3 million shares in the previous session.
Foreign investors were net sellers in the equity market, offloading shares worth about Rs. 152.6 million.
