State ministry secretaries appointments due this week

Cabinet gave approval last week for appointments
38 State ministers have been appointed
Subjects and functions Gazette for ministers also due this week

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is due to appoint secretaries to the State ministries this week after Cabinet gave approval for it last week.

Thirty-eight State ministers were appointed by the President as part of the interim Government which will be in place till the next General Elections.

The proposal to Cabinet by the President for the appointment of secretaries to State ministries was made under Article 44(1) of the Constitution.

Meanwhile the Gazette notification with the allocation of subjects and function for newly-appointed Cabinet and State ministers is due week, Government sources said.
