The Government is exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation on tourism and agriculture with the Sultanate of Oman.
The Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting earlier this week approved entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Heritage and Tourism Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman to boost tourism.
It was also noted that the Attorney General’s clearance has also been received for the proposal prepared to enhance cooperation between Sri Lanka and Oman in the field of tourism.
The proposal to this effect submitted by Tourism Minister Harin Fernando was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Separately the Cabinet also approved a proposal by Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera to sign a MoU with the Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Resources and Water Resources in relation to the agriculture sector cooperation.
