Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) has declared the largest-ever life insurance bonus of Rs.7.6 billion for the year 2019 to its life insurance policyholders.
SLIC said the amount is also the largest life insurance bonus ever to be declared in the insurance industry of Sri Lanka. The latest move has brought the total life insurance bonuses paid to policyholders since 2006 to over Rs. 50 billion.
"With this outstanding achievement, Sri Lanka Insurance surpasses its own record of Rs. 6.8 billion life insurance bonuses declared in the year 2018 and is continuously setting new paradigms in the insurance industry," SLIC said in a statement
Sri Lanka Insurance, the pioneer of the insurance industry, has been declaring increasing bonuses to its life policyholders over the years, having given over Rs. 50 billion as life insurance bonuses since 2006.
