Samantha Rajapaksa has quit as the Managing Director of Associated Motorways Ltd.
Although he resigned this week, he is on “garden leave” until 7 March 2018.
A qualified top professional, Samantha has served for six years as MD of AMW, which is owned by UAE giant the Al Futtaim Group. He was also a Board Director at AMW Capital Leasing and Finance Plc.
Speculation was rife that he was asked to leave but AMW sources said that the exit was amicable as he sought to seek better prospects and a new challenge.
Previously, Samantha had served the Softlogic Group as Director and Softlogic Communications as Director/CEO while functioning as Group Director of Kshatriya Holdings, Group Director of Central Finance, Director/CEO of CF Venture Ltd. and Director/General Manager of Informatics International. He also served as a Senior Project Manager at AT&T Inc, USA.
At present Samantha serves as a Director on the Board of the Bank of Ceylon, Asiri Hospital Holdings Plc and Asiri Surgical Hospital Plc.
