The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Board of Directors will meet tomorrow to firm up the remaining measures in fast trackingtourism revival, following the setbacks caused by the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
Top on the agenda is global public relations and the marketing campaign conceptualised by JWT,which was approved by the Cabinet two weeks ago.
With support from JWT, the SLTPB will roll out the two-month PR campaign by mid-July and the six-month global marketing campaign by late July.
At the upcoming Board meeting, SLTPB will also be briefed by senior staff on their work plans and how they are aligned with recovery efforts.
On Wednesday, the SLTPB team will brief the Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) on the tourism revival progress and decisions made on Tuesday.
According to SLTPB arrival numbers from May to June have increased by 70% from 1,300 to 2,200 a day with all major 14 tourist generating markets softening the travel advisories.
