The Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has summoned officials from several institutions to appear before it next week, including those from SriLankan Airlines who have been asked to be present on 19 February in order to discuss the Airbus bribery case, CoPE Chairman MP Sunil Handunnetti said.
The committee chair said that SriLankan Airlines officials had submitted a written request to provide them with more time to further study the airbus matter as they were newly-appointed officials but CoPE members had turned down the request, asking them to present themselves on 19 February.
Handunnetti said two reports pertaining to the Airbus deal have been presented to Parliament by the CoPE committee so far.
Officials of the Foreign Employment Bureau are scheduled to appear before the committee on 18 February while those from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) were summoned to appear on 20 February. (CK)
