Japan’s SG Holdings is ending 2022 with an enhanced 82.4% stake in Sri Lanka’s most valuable listed entity Expolanka Holdings PLC.
The latest shareholding was made public via a disclosure to the Colombo Stock Exchange yesterday.
It stated that as of 28 December 2022, SG Global Pte Holdings Ltd., held 1.611 billion shares of Expolanka or 82.4% in comparison to 1.55 billion shares or 79.47% as of 30 September. As at June, stake was 75.62%.
Expolanka share price closed at Rs. 181 yesterday, up by 75 cents.
On 19 December, the Daily FT exclusively reported that SG Holdings had upped its stake in Expolanka to 81%.
SG Holdings’ buying into Expolanka has been largely responsible for 10-year high Rs. 30.7 billion net foreign inflow to the Colombo stock market this year.
