The Supreme Court last week refused a Fundamental Rights application filed against the Central Bank Governor, Treasury Secretary, the Monetary Board and former Finance Minister Ali Sabry, seeking to challenge the decision to suspend payment of external debt.
Sabry in a tweet said that after comprehensive questioning on what other possible alternatives available to the Respondents, the Petitioners were not able to satisfy court as to what other alterative course of action was available at the time. “Accordingly, the Petitioners were refused leave to proceed,” Sabry added.
